Sthlm Kubb Open X Kubb VM 2026 is history

The 29–30 May marked the inaugural edition of Sthlm Kubb Open X Kubb World Championship, with the Kubb World Championship organization serving as co-organizer. The tournament is arranged in collaboration with the Kubb club Sthlm Kubb.

This year’s event took place in the beautiful Galärparken, located on Djurgården in Stockholm, right next to Junibacken.

1vs1

On 29 May, starting at 18:00, the 1vs1 tournament was played with 35 participants. After five rounds of the Swiss system, players were seeded into the A, B, and C Playoffs based on their results in the qualifying rounds. All finals were completed by 22:00.

The winner of the A Playoffs was Theo Sturve, with Olle Benzler finishing in second place and Linus Pettersson claiming third.

3vs3

On Saturday, the team tournament was played in a 3vs3 format, with teams competing in a Swiss-system tournament followed by playoffs using the same format as the 1vs1 competition, featuring A, B, and C Playoffs.

With a great pace throughout the day and fantastic weather, the finals were decided around 18:00.
