Competition information 6vs6
6vs6 is played on Friday and Saturday. The competition starts at 08:00 both days. Teams register at the secretariat between 07-07:45. The 32 best teams from the previous year’s competition are directly qualified for Saturday’s group stage.
Friday
On Friday, all teams play group stage, where the 32 best teams advance to Saturday’s group stage. All teams face each other within the group and each match is played in the best of three sets.
Each match in the group stage is allowed to last 90 minutes. If the match is not decided within the time limit, the match is decided in a tiebreak. See description at the bottom of the page or under rules.
Those who do not advance among the 32 best placed teams on Friday compete in the competition called The Second Chance. The competition is played immediately after the group stage has been completed. All teams that do not qualify as among the 32 best are automatically registered for The Second Chance. The second chance is played with a direct elimination in the best of 1 set. The winner of the second chance wins a place back into the main competition and has thus secured a place in Saturday’s group stage.
For teams that do not advance among the top 32 and do not win the second chance, they have the opportunity to register for the Little World Championship, which will be played on Saturday starting at 08:00. Registration for the Little World Championship must be done no later than 18:00 Friday,
Saturday
Saturday’s final game consists of a group stage where the 32 best teams advance to the round of 32. All teams meet each other within the group and each match is played in the best of three sets.
Saturday’s group stage in the Little World Championship consists of a group stage where the number of teams that advance to the playoffs depends on how many teams have registered.
Each match in the group stage may last 75 minutes. If the match is not decided within the time limit, the match will be decided in a tiebreak. See description at the bottom of the page. In the playoff matches from the round of 32 to the quarter-finals, the Tiebreak starts after 90 minutes.
Those who do not make it to the round of 32 and those who lose their round of 32 in the Big World Championship are automatically registered for the Little World Championship playoffs. The Little World Championship playoffs consist of a direct elimination and each match is played in the best of one set.
TIEBREAK
When 75/90 minutes have passed and no team has won the match before the tiebreak, after a current throwing round.
Example:
Team A throws the current throwing round.
Team A and Team B each throw a stick from the baseline closest to the king. Team A comes closest to the king.
Team B now throws their throwing round just as usual.
Team A throws their kubbs onto the field. Team B raises the kubbs and then removes a base kubb or the field kubb that is placed closest to the baseline.
The kubb that is removed disappears from the game and does not return for the entire set.
This continues during each throwing round, meaning one cube is removed per round until the match is over.
